CHAMPAGNE & MUSIC PAIRING
Experience the power surge
You know all about food and wine pairing. And if we suggest a music/wine pairing, do you think it’s daring? But that’s just what’s so good about it!
We got the idea from winemaker Franck Pascal, with whom we co-created a cuvée. Already, he has our admiration because he is a forerunner of biodynamics in Champagne. But something else struck us about him: he plays loud music in his cellars! He believes that music has an impact on the ageing of his wines.
That’s how music came into the EPC dance.
This relationship with music intrigued us, so we dug deeper. We realized that certain tunes evoke the same sensations in us as when we taste our champagnes. So we had a lot of fun looking for the music that would go perfectly with each of our EPC vintages. A vintage = an emotion = music.
For our Blanc de Blancs grand cru, Rone’s Bye Bye Macadam was the winner. We levitate from the very first notes, which respond perfectly to the champagne’s sweet citrus notes. Then the other instruments come in, as when the champagne airs out and releases more gourmet aromas, like brioche. The score unfolds, you close your eyes, it’s bewitching and tac, the aromas intermingle to reveal all the richness and complexity of this great terroir. Soft landing.
